Using the Contech Wasp Trap is easy. Simply empty the contents of the lure pouch into the bag, add 15 oz (450 ml) of water, and hang the trap from a tree or stand it on a surface away from the house or patio (to avoid attracting wasps to occupied areas).

The trap’s patented lure attracts nearby wasps and yellowjackets, and captures them within the bag.

The Wasp Trap uses a highly effective, yet safe and non-toxic attractant developed by Contech Enterprises - an industry leader in the development and commercialization of non-toxic insect trapping technology.

The Wasp Trap includes one non-toxic trap with hanger and one lure pouch.

This an awesome product. A full pouch in four days and we can use our deck again. Question is, how do we dispose of used product? My neighbour was having a bbq and was bombarded by wasps. My wife told me to get our trap over to his place asap. With-in 10 minutes or less they were eating in comfort and I'm a hero. I quickly ran to the store and bought all they had left in stock.

I just wanted to tell you that I used my wasp control “bag” for yellow jackets which you gave me either this yr. or last at GWA and it is wonderful. You should see all the ground hornets and yellowjackets in it. My dogs are thrilled, as they can find any of these hideous creatures , much to their dismay.

Beekeepers often watch helplessly as yellowjacket wasps invade a hive, kill the guard bees, steal the honey, and kidnap the brood to feed to their young. Up to 20 honey bees may die in the battle to kill one invading yellowjacket. In severe situations, marauding wasps can destroy a colony. Often wasps are also a problem in honey extraction areas, and in areas visited by the public. A very effective method of managing yellowjackets in apiaries is to use Contech’s Yellowjacket and Wasp Trap.

  • When placed next to (or even on top of) a bee hive, wasps will be diverted away from the hive and will be captured in the Yellowjacket and Wasp Trap. Very few honey bees will be captured.
  • Additional traps can be placed in problem areas or around the perimeter of an apiary.
  • The trap is a re-usable plastic bag that can be hung or can stand alone. Offset entry ports allow entry from either side of the trap.
  • The trap comes with an emulsifiable concentrate lure containing a blend of natural non-toxic yellowjacket attractants that induce wasps to enter the trap.
  • Inside the trap, captured wasps that contact the liquid emulsion are quickly drowned.
  • Replacement lures are available to re-bait the traps after two weeks.
